What Goes Into a Claude Motion Clip
Each one is stored as an artifact generated from the Motion template, so you are editing animation code rather than a video file — and it stays in the Artifacts tab for later.
- Animated Code, Not Filmed ScenesBecause the output is code, it behaves like a short video while never generating realistic people or camera-shot footage.
- Rooted in the Motion TemplateEverything you create is saved as a Motion template artifact inside the Artifacts tab, so nothing gets lost and anything can be reopened.
- Availability Depends on Your PlanTeam subscriptions have it switched on already; Enterprise admins enable it under Organization settings > Artifacts before anyone can use it.
Ways to Produce a Claude Motion Clip
Pick whichever entry point suits you and go from rough material to a finished clip you can export or pass to a teammate.
What a Claude Motion Clip Can Do
Precise edits, your own source material, a downloadable MP4 and visibility you decide — the hands-on side of working with Motion.
Adjust a Single Detail
Change one word, number or beat and every other scene holds its original layout and timing.
Drawn From Your Own Files
Upload the deck, spreadsheet or images you want featured, so each scene is built from material you supplied.
Kept in the Artifacts Tab
Animations are stored in the Artifacts tab, which makes any clip quick to find and reopen later.
Export to MP4
Export produces an MP4 file you can drop into presentations, onboarding flows or company-wide updates.
Private Until You Share
Only you can see a clip until you open it and deliberately use Share to pass it to someone else.
Admin Control Over Rollout
Owners switch Motion on under Organization settings > Artifacts, and Enterprise can limit it to specific groups with custom roles.
Claude Motion Clip: Common Questions
Answers on how these animations are produced, who gets access and what happens when you share one.
Does a Claude Motion clip contain realistic people or filmed footage?
No. There is no video generation model in Motion — it animates text, charts, shapes and images as code, so the result reads as designed rather than filmed.
Who can use it, and is it switched on already?
It is in beta for Team and Enterprise. Team accounts have it enabled from the start; Enterprise needs an admin to turn it on first.
How does an admin enable Motion?
Go to Organization settings > Artifacts and toggle it on. On Enterprise, custom roles can restrict it to selected groups.
Does generating clips use up my plan allowance?
Yes — clips draw from the same usage allowance as other Claude work, and a long or complex animation consumes more of it than a short message.
Can I correct one figure or adjust the pacing later?
Absolutely. Ask for the change in chat or make it yourself in the editor; scenes you do not touch keep their original look and rhythm.
What are my options for saving or sharing the result?
Export saves an MP4 to your device. Until you open a clip and use Share, it remains visible only to you.
Head to the Artifacts Tab and Build Your Claude Motion Clip
Choose the Motion template, describe what should move and export the finished MP4. On Team and Enterprise, an owner may need to enable Motion in Organization settings > Artifacts first.
