How Claude Animation Builds Motion From Your Files

Unlike a text-to-video model, Claude animation reworks assets you already have into a compact Motion artifact — and every part of it stays editable afterwards.

  • Reports and Guides Turned Into Animation
Give it a quarterly report, a pricing comparison or a list of setup steps, and it returns a compact animated piece: an all-hands explainer, a board-deck chart, an onboarding walkthrough.
  • Motion Artifacts Written as Code
Each animation is an artifact generated from the Motion template. Claude animation writes the code that moves text, charts, shapes and images inside it, and the finished piece plays back like a short video.
  • Change One Detail, Keep the Rest
Because the output is code, a single word, figure or timing cue can be adjusted on its own while every other element of the piece holds exactly where it was.

How to Use Claude Animation

You can reach a Motion artifact three ways: ask inside any chat, open the Motion template, or brief Claude animation with files you already own.

What Claude Animation Can Do

Conversational edits, MP4 export, sharing controls and admin toggles — here is what becomes possible once a Motion artifact exists.

Revise by Chatting With Claude

Ask for a change in plain language — stretch the second scene, or swap the Q3 number for 18% — and Claude animation updates the piece you already have instead of rebuilding it.

Fine-Tune It Yourself in the Editor

Prefer direct control? Open the editor and reshape scenes, timing and layout by hand rather than describing every adjustment to Claude.

Export Straight to MP4

Choose Export, select MP4, and the finished animation arrives as a video file you can drop into decks, events or onboarding packs.

Private Until You Share It

A freshly made animation stays visible only to you; open it and hit Share to distribute it, subject to whatever artifact sharing rules your organization enforces.

Admin Controls and Template Toggles

Owners can switch Claude Motion on or off under Organization settings > Artifacts — on by default for Team, off on Enterprise until enabled, and limited to chosen groups through custom roles.

Everything Stored in the Artifacts Tab

Each build lands in the Artifacts tab, so earlier explainers, charts and walkthroughs remain available to reopen, refine or hand off later.

FAQ

Claude Animation: Common Questions

Answers about Claude animation — plan availability, editing, exports, usage limits and the admin setup behind it.

1

Which plans include Claude Animation?

Claude Motion is in beta for Team and Enterprise. Team plans ship with it enabled; Enterprise plans keep it off until an owner turns it on under Organization settings > Artifacts.

2

Does Claude Animation produce realistic video footage?

No. It never calls a video generation model, so lifelike footage and people are outside its scope. What you get is code-driven animation of the text, charts, shapes and images already in your material.

3

Can I change one detail without redoing everything?

Yes. The animation is code, so you can ask Claude in chat to change a word, a number or the timing — or edit it directly — and the rest of the piece stays exactly as it was.

4

How do I download or share an animation?

Pick Export and choose MP4 to download the file. Animations are private to you by default; press Share on an open one to send it to others.

5

Does Claude Animation count toward usage limits?

It does. Work done with Claude animation counts against your plan's usage limits like any other task, and a longer or more complex build consumes more of that allowance than a normal message.

6

What do admins need to enable first?

Owners or Primary Owners first enable cloud code execution and file creation under Organization settings > Capabilities, then switch on Artifacts and the Motion template under Organization settings > Artifacts. Turning a template off leaves artifacts already built with it untouched.

Put Claude Animation to Work on Your Next Report

Ask in chat or open the Artifacts tab, and Claude animation reshapes your report, chart or onboarding steps into a Motion piece. Owners enable it under Organization settings > Artifacts.
